Michael Steddum was raised in California. He joined the Navy at eighteen and traveled the world. He started off as a cook and ended his enlistment as a Draftsman Illustrator. After his enlistment was up, he found work in a gallery in San Diego. In 1990, Michael left the gallery to pursue a career as a full-time artist.
In Michael’s current body of work, transparent glass objects represent people or situations that we all know. There is a narrative with each painting. Sometimes humorous and others are serious. Each painting has its own story in which Michael is eager to tell. He looks forward to sharing the art and story of each work with the multitude of people at shows around the nation. Michael has spent over three decades as a full-time artist, painting his way through life and sharing his art.
