This year, I want to get out and meet the actual people who buy my art. I spend most of my time locked away in my studio with very little contact with people throughout the day. So I started to apply to shows around the country or at least within a days’ drive or two. I have three shows scheduled for the spring. Scottsdale Arts Festival, The Woodlands Arts Festival, and Art on the Square in Southlake. All three are highly respectable shows that are juried for admission. When shows first started to accept me, I was surprised to be among the tall cotton that was chosen. The three shows I mentioned have up to 1200 artists who apply and in some cases, only 18 spots available for a painter. I am very happy that I will be one of the artists. There are another nine shows that I have applied to and over the next few months they will be sending out the notification to the artists they have selected. I hope I will be posting that I will be participating in them.
